Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

Common Proficiency Test is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course . CPT is an objective type test with negative marking. It is a test of four subjects i.e., Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions each session is of hours and having a break. Exams will be held only after 12th.

Exemption from CPT

1.    Graduates or Post Graduates from Commerce stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks.

2.    Graduates or Post Graduates from any other stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks.

3.       Candidates who have passed the Intermediate level ICAI or ICSI.


Passing Criteria

Ø  CPT Paper contains 200 Multi Choice Questions (MCQ) for 1 Mark each.

Ø  The Tests are objective type, with ¼ Mark negative marking for each incorrect answer.

Admission fees

Ø  Prospectus Rs 100

Ø  Form will be deposited to ICAI along with a draft of Rupees 6,000/- only

A student is required to apply in the prescribed form.

·         A student may buy Prospectus remitting Rs.100. The application form is available in the Prospectus.
